Pink Wallpapers is an independent, small-team project that grew out of a simple frustration: most "aesthetic wallpaper" sites are either stock-photo dumps with no organization, or single-use blogs that stop updating after a few months. We wanted a catalog that stays current, is actually organized by visual style rather than vague tags, and tells you something real about each image instead of a one-line caption. The website and its companion iOS app share the same catalog.

How we curate the catalog

Every wallpaper added to Pink Wallpapers goes through the same short pipeline before it's published:

1. Style sort. New designs are placed into one category based on dominant visual traits — palette, texture, and motif — not just by keyword. A wallpaper only goes into "Coquette" if it actually reads as coquette (ribbons, lace, soft blush tones), not because the word was in a filename.
2. Display check. We look at how the image renders on a real lock screen: does text stay legible over it, does it survive compression, does it look right in both light and dark iOS themes.
3. Duplicate and quality pass. Near-duplicate or low-resolution submissions are dropped rather than republished with a new title.
4. Tagging. Each wallpaper gets specific tags (color, mood, use-case) so search and related-wallpaper suggestions are based on real similarity, not just shared category.

We publish new wallpapers on a rolling basis — usually several times a week — plus themed batches ahead of holidays and seasons.

Editorial standards

Every wallpaper page includes a written description covering its style, color palette, orientation, and supported devices — we don't publish image-only pages with no context. Wallpaper descriptions are generated from structured data about each image (category, palette, tags, upload date, engagement) rather than written from scratch for every single one, since the catalog runs into the hundreds of items; we add more hand-written detail to our most-viewed categories and to standalone guides like the ones above.
